This exhibit will showcase a variety of traditional crafts. Topics will include: hair art, Norwegian fiber arts, beading, miniatures, wood burning, bookbinding, paper cutting, Potawatomi carved wooden spoons, Finnish bird carving, Ojibway quill art, and seed saving.  Learn more about the crafts of our immigrant, Victorian and Native American ancestors.  It will include exquisite examples from the History Center’s permanent collection.

September 23, 2019 (Monday) – Volunteer Dinner at Clearview Supper Club – social 5:00 pm/dinner 6:00 pm.  Be sure to let Joe or Marleen 715-356-3702 know your dinner selection – deep fried walleye with baked potato, prime rib with baked potato or chicken parmesan with pasta – and what you have volunteered for in the past year.  (Going on trips or seeing performances do not count as volunteering.) By signing up for this event you are agreeing to pay the $23 cost of the mean if you don’t attend.

The story takes place in a small convent where two nuns raise grapes and produce juice to give to the poor.  In order to stay solvent they are secretly making wine right under the nose of the teetotaler Mother Superior.  Then they win a national prize.  In the meantime Rome wants to close the three-nun convent and sends a “spy” to check it out.

The musical version of THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME is a marriage of the darkness of the original Victor Hugo story and the lightness brought to the story by the Disney movie.   At the time of its release, the movie tested the boundaries of the traditional Disney movie musical by tackling adult themes; including the nature of love, lust, prejudice and religion.  With its beautifully sweeping, epic score and some of the most powerful ensemble music ever heard, audiences will be swept away by the magic of this truly unforgettable musical.
